good luck jimrobo,

the good days of sports trading are long gone - i suspect you're doing the right thing and wish you every success for the future.

They need to cut out the bollox and let it be p2p again. Get rid of the guys that turn up in their office and say they will provide liquidity as long as.......
Every time a 20 pound entry is moved against, that is 5 potential referals lost.

as they say onwards and upwards and good luck to you. Betfair will welcome you back any time ;) and I'm sure that when your absence is noticed you'll get some emails from them.

Half a week in. So how has it been going back to 'real work' mate? I would be interested to hear your thoughts, has it been as expected, better or worse. Do you enjoy being back in a team and working environment. etc. etc.

its actually been really good. Good to get stuck into something new and remember some old skills!

Completely regret leaving in the first place really. And I'm not sure there'll be a place when I've finished this current project but I'll see what happens!

Its been a strange old week I haven't thought about cash once! When you are trading its all about whats happening that day and how much can you make. Every market is seeing what you can get out of the market. If you are having a bad day its a pretty rubbish feeling....that pit of your stomach rubbishy feeling knowing you just spent the day in front of your computer for nothing! When you get paid anyway its quite a nice feeling to just forget about anything to do with money and get on with whatever comes across your desk.

yeh its good to have a laugh around various bits of the office....bumping into people in the kitchen and messing around at lunch. Unfortunately not a massive amount of modelesque type people in a logistics type office! But its still better than no eye candy!! :)

It's easily misunderstood, you've been at home behind your desk for many months. See young ladies by the water cooler can be too stimulating, so stick to a nice cool glass water for now.

no need to thank me for the advice

Good to hear you are enjoying it. I am sure something will come up at the end of the project. It will be interesting to see how you feel about it all then once the 'novelty' of it has passed if you get what I mean.

I fully get what you say about being able to think about other things than how much did I make in that market, today, week, month. Also how it can effect you when it isn't what you hoped when you press get P & L.

Keep us updated if you would as to how it all pans out, it will be interesting to read, also I look forward to hearing if you feel like you have your weekends back where you now don't have to trade if you don't want to.

Good luck.

Only just seen this.

Sorry to hear this is happening JR. I guess none of us really know what's around the corner. You seem to be handling the whole thing with a lot of dignity and not much anger, which you have my utmost respect for.

Hope it all works out for you one way or the other mate :)
