I'm really not sure if Google is a power for Good or Evil. Any organisation that has unimaginable amounts of money can buy politicians, control and power. And that poses a huge risk. Like the petroleum companies through the 70s, 80s and 90s, Google has the ability to subvert and wreck pretty much anything, if it so chooses.

But on a lighter side, despite my reservations about Google (or rather, the people running it), I can't help but love a company who does this when I wake up and open up my browser:

Thanks Herbie. Amazingly, I woke up yesterday and didn't really feel any older! Although to be fair, I started to feel like I was 60 when I hit 40...
