And I'm nowhere near the screen - I was at the skateboard park with my kids. All run on guardian automation to preset rules within 5 minutes of the off.
I hope this inspires people to see what can be achieved from this amazing software and continuing to experiment and refine your strategy. My automation didn't work for a long time. It took over three years to move from manual profitability to think my way to automation. But automation is the best because once perfected your emotions don't interfere. Making a loss doesn't matter anymore, I know I'm profitable over each day.
So, if you can manually do it, you are probably going to be even more successful automated.
I think the automation features in bet angel are way ahead of the competition and such a powerful feature. The beauty is you can use both guardian and excel in conjunction too. Betangel has grown in the last seven years I have been using it into a top quality product and its a credit to the team. I must admit I was sceptical when the automation was built into guardian (as I could see no advance to the excel route(Still my preference TBH)), but what it has done is to open a new world to those who saw excel as a step too far.
Obviously some systems work better than others and the ultimate is to find a system that is scaleable - thats hard.
I dont say this lightly, or mean to blow smoke up bet angel ar*!, but it really changed my life when I got this working. Ive been very fortunate to have been able to spread that and helped other family members out too, which has given me great satisfaction. The profits I made from this for a couple of years post cross matching blew me away
On the other side of the coin, This last twelve months or so, I have found that automation has got harder and harder, particularly in the UK markets. The profits are not as great as previous, but still worthwhile. Yesterday was yesterday, today is today, you can only move forward. To that end, I have now been doing some manual trading too.
There is nothing like sitting in a boring meeting and swiping your iPhone to check your VPS and see that you just won £x on the last race!
Gaz - Well done on your results, may it long continue. Im sure there are many on here that use automation successfully but off the top of my head I can't think of many. If I may ask you a couple of questions; Do you trade the UK markets too with the same level of success and do you solely use guardian automation; excel or a combination of the two?
regards
Peter
