With Southwell running late I was interested to see the 'shape' of the markets. Any manual traders wouldn't be particularly active, probably, at the 'old' post time. But there is still a lot of activity in the market which must be automated you would think?

Thoughts?

Well funny enough, I was watching this too..
I had had enough screen time by 14:15 as I had a real early start today, so decided to get away from my desk and was doing something in the garage..

I had my iPad with me with the VPS on with the intention of catching the 14:00 as it went in running

If I remember correctly, the traded vol was around £1m (?) at the off, what was interesting was they money was constantly being matched for along time before it finally went in play, not as fast as a couple of mins before the official off, but nevertheless signifiant..

I was trying to think would would be typically trading this - Perhaps people were bookmaking?

regards
Peter

I heard that Betfair live video wasn't working this afternoon so maybe some people out there were betting at work / trading without knowing what was happening, as well as the bots. I know a couple of traders who still rely on BF live video even though they're full time, though I guess we've all seen this kind of thing before in these circumstances even when the pictures are available
