Maybe a silly question,
If I have this function in excel on the command box:
=IF(G9<=10,"BACK","")
the back bet I assume goes into betfair when cell G9 equals 10 or less. However, if for a millisecond the price jumps back out to 11's or 12's for eg before the back was matched, does Bet Angel cancel this initial bet and wait for the price to come back into 10 or less and then try again?
Many thanks
Steve
Backing in excel
I couldn't speak for certainity on Excel
But the betfair default is to sell back's at highest available price (and lays at the lowest available price). So, if you try to buy at 10 but it's getting matched on 11.3 they'll match you at 11.3 even if you didn't ask for that.

Hi
It will fire the bet in if the condition is met.
Try logging in in an API mode and use the Last Traded price (LTP) for different combinations..
You can also easily calculate your net position using the matched bets cols too..
NB: Suggest you test in practice mode. I ve been working on a two selection market model...I ran it in practice mode the other week and it had made >£1500 in about ten mins...(£100 Stakes), but then went on to lose >£10K !
Practice mode is a god send to get rid of the rough edges, then fine tweak it once you have a prototype..

For me, as soon as a condition is met and the 'back' is sent to the command line, the bet is posted regardless of the condition not being in place thereafter.

The most common example of this happening for me is changes in the over round.
I will only place bets if the market over round is below 102%, I can sit and watch a market moving around knowing I've a selection waiting for the OR to dip below 102%.
Even if it ticks down to 1.01999% for a millisecond then comes back over 1.02%, the bet gets sent to betfair.
