Morning
Anyone with youngish children might be interested in this :-

http://uk.code.org

Review here:-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-26415021

The idea is to teach children how to write their own programs and get hooked and equip the with the skillset required for future years
Even in my lifetime, Ive gone from seeing my first calculator to a digital equipped life. I think that the next generation will see things we could only have dream about and you could get left behind in the next 50 years.
I was watching my 9 Year old son play minecraft on Saturday and he was typing in the command line what looked liked unix commands! Its amazing how they absorb the information
Looks like it starts with basic building "drag and drop" and goes on to Java and Python
Anyway, Il have a go at weekend with my little un, thought I'd mention it for any other parents on here..
I might even get him to write me a new BOT for betfair! :D
Regards
Peter

Nice, I might get my younger brothers on that! I am currently using http://www.codecademy.com/ to learn Python, I strongly recommend it!

I know Java has libraries that can be used to control Excel spread-sheets. So an Excel spread-sheet could be controlled by an external Java program.
