Yeah, I tried following the swing trade trends on the horses for years and only ever got my arse handed to me as well. See my previous post. My future objective for the horses is just to stick to long-term value trading instead - you could try that as well.Consty1 wrote:Lol this couldn't have gone any worse today. I think every time I get on a trend it viciously turns, I can't get out or I don't pick it quick enough.
It's time to wave the white flag and just stick to football I think.
And another £30 spunked on the 15:35 when the fav starts coming in but wants to reverse again. Impossible and pure random I'm convinced.

Despite the markets being relatively low volume, today was okay. Managed to catch some nice swings from the start.
I expect the in-play specialists did well, too. Plenty of front-runners were beaten after going heavily odds-on.

Do not try to follow trends on winter UK races! You need to either get on a move at the very start, before the move is obvious, or wait until the end of the move and get on the reversal.Consty1 wrote:Not traded but recorded a couple of races and I can already see I'd have had my arse handed to me. I see someone was throwing £75k stacks in to the market.
Don't believe any apparent 'trend' you see on UK winter races! It only a takes a few arseholes to lump on big amounts and the price gets jerked violently around all over the show. You cannot win trying to follow the price around under such circumstances - that is a total suckers game.

I know someone who made hundreds of pounds per day from trend trading this winter, so that's simply untrue.

Great Link in the 14:00 at Sand... first race of the day and will surely be my best trade of the day.
I didn't have the live feed setup, was the horse playing up?

You and I don't have that persons abilities. Looking at other people's P&L statements is about as useful as others reading about my 2012 lottery win in the news.Ferru123 wrote:Zenyatta -

With greatest respect, with that attitude you'll never acquire their abilities.
