Thought I would give Betdaq a bash today - I was quite happy with how it went but VERY disappointed to see that they haven't developed the API at all despite all the promises since I have been away.

I am not surprised BF said in their results that they haven't seen any impact from Betdaq, now where is my horse and cart...

There were some big swings yesterday as highlighted above (Carlingford Loch and Dalawan).

This has caused me some concern, I was on the wrong side of the Carlingford (I managed to bale out half way through the drift but suffered a loss. Luckily I had backed Dalawan but was amazed to see a horse steam so quickly (It jumped 7-8 ticks instaneously according to my connection I was expecting to be scalping one tick rather than swing trade it) in what I thought would be a stable Cheltenham Market and doubt I could have exited in time if I needed to. This has made me a bit nervous as I was using bigger stakes than normal thinking that I would be able to exit if necessary.

Is that how other saw it or do I need to tweak my settings or refresh rate look at my connection speed?

What sort of money are we talking to move a Cheltenham maket like that?

Thinking I will throttle back on the stakes a bit today in case the volatility shows up again.

Cheers in advance for any comments.

Plenty, but it takes two to tango don't forget. In other circumstances the 'layers' may have been happy to take on more liability higher up and may have stopped the price from moving half as low.

Its really annoying. This was one of their very first promises and it just hasn't happened. Until it does they won;t make ground and thats the bottom line. If I could have given them any advise from day one its at least be on a level playing field api wise as betfair then you at least have a chance!

Yes agree mate. I am sure it isn't a straight forward thing to update and change but they have had quite a while now to get their act together or at least update the public on what is happening.

Peter - could I suggest this thread is moved from Getting Started to the Horse Racing section. People may find it hard to find in the future post Cheltenham.

The 5.15 is just a charity race. Always one or two newbies get caught out thinking it's going to be liquid like the others, so don't let it be you :!:

BEWARE AND HEED CAUTION!!!!

Not all Charity races go in play...!

If I get a spare moment I will check but I would recommend greening up before the off....

Don't know if anybody else has spotted this but new and old Betfair web site often show different P&L's

Think Clare Balding added momentum to the late drift on Annie Power there

Sigh, decide to trade my first race of the festival and Colour Squadron wants to completely shaft me, back to retirement :)
