Hi,
I want a 2nd betfair account for testing stuff etc so it doesnt mess up my trading records. How do people do this, can you open two betfair accounts for the same person or do you need to create one using a family member ? If you use a family member presume the card used in BF needs to be one of theirs ??

I spoke to betfair and it's fine to have multiple betfair accounts in the same name, same address....etc... The only difference is that you need to use a different payment method for each account. Ie. Different card or moneybookers account for each.

Hi
To open two accounts(usernames) (or more) for yourself then you have to have different ways of funding them ie different switch cards (Ie different bank accounts).
Strongly recommend that you dont use a credit card to fund it. I started one up with £200 from a credit card...now everytime I want to with draw from it, I have to call the BF help desk and wire it to my bank (apparently you cant withdraw to a credit card..it was either that or the fact that I was trying to withdraw more than I had initially paid in?, either way a pain). I have just started using that money in that account to hedge some of my football trading...so if anything I expect that account to drecrease slightly over time, so not too worried.
If you do setup more than one account that will be trading from your home (ie using the same IP address)..then what I did for my daughters account was have it verified..see:-

..That way they could see she was totally independant from me. You need to do this or they will link and associate the two accounts.
I think the other thing that is a bit of a no no is say using your wife account to lay a selection and then you back it (a away of getting around the premium charge)..they will very quickly pick this up. So just be careful...
Thanks and good luck!
Peter
PS..stating the obvious..but if you do have more than one account in YOUR name...you will still be bound by the 20 req / sec..!

Hi,
You can get rid of your credit card off your Betfair account if you tell them the credit card has now been cancelled and no longer exists.
I am not recommending that you do this.
Cheers

I know this is a bit of an old thread but would just like to try and find out some information. I asked in another thread but didnt get any reply.
If I have more than 1 account linked to me and i was to make Back bets on one of my accounts and lay bets on my other account how would these be treated? Would they be treated as independant accounts or would my commissions be settled at the end of the market on the overall position between the two linked accounts?
The reason Im interested to know is because I would like to know if I could make a market with money on both sides of the market and if I self matched my own money, would the money still show in the graphs as matched amounts?? Then when the market is settled at the end of the event, it would only treat my back and lay bets as one account and charge commission overall?
