Peter mentioned in a previous thread that as a seasoned traveller he has certain requirements to assist him with his trading while away from home. As another seasoned traveller I was interested to see what other traders set ups and hints and tips are?

Personally I use a Sony Vaio Laptop with the largest LCD screen I could find which I do the majority of my trading from. I regularly get a lot if funny looks and comments when it goes through the security scanners due to it's size ;-)

An iPad with 3G connectivity and unrestricted global roaming (using the pocket cloud app) to access my BA VPS.

An HD lead for connecting to my hotel room flatscreens. Often used to extend my laptop screens.

I have a Slingbox at home connected to the Sky box along with a Racing UK online account.

An unrestricted mobile phone and also a Skype account with Betfair's numbers already preloaded incase of Mobile Signal outage.

I'm interested to see what others use, if they carry other monitors, what ways they find best to view the live coverage... Was thinking I could be missing a trick....

There was a thread about this recently, but I also found this one from some time ago: -

Thanks Euler...

I'll have a good read. It's always interesting to see what others recommend...

I am looking at subscribing to Racing UK. Is there much of a time delay when viewing through an ipad with a 3g connection and a laptop with internet connection?

You don't need to subscribe to Racing UK you can use Betfair or Betdaq live video

Does anyone use the racing channels now, i.e. are they worth the monthly subscription?

I'll still use them but I'm not convinced of their value any more.

Thank you Peter. Is there much of a delay using B/F or B/D ?

RUK is the same but ATR is faster on the live feeds.

RUK online used to be marginally faster than BF LV (1-2secs)for me. Since their site changes its now slower (1-2 secs)As Euler says, ATR faster on their live feeds - beats me why their channel is so ridiculously slow.
