Hi
I've noticed that the data request counter can fluctuate considerably. For instance, right now I've set the counter to 20 maximum..but the actual varies between 12-20 on the BA display...
How do Betfair monitor it. Do they take an hourly aggregate?
I was wondering whether I could push it up slighty to say 22 on the assumption that it would never always be running at 22 100% of the time??
(Am I also correct in thinking that the excess charge is 1p for each request over the alloted 20 ?)
regards
Peter

PS If there were a way of controlling the Req/Sec in Excel that would be great...for eg the excel program could be programmed to increase the data req in the last 15 secs of the race and indoing so incur minor charges in return for greater profits...BA Any chance of including this as a suggestion should be easy to code his in????

We raised this issue with Betfair when they introduced the charges, we feel people are getting charged when they shouldn't be. Their average will be below 20 but for brief periods they may exceed it and incurr a charge. Betfair's response was 'tell them to lower the threshold'

We did a write up here: -

Thanks for that.
I know you are limited by Betfair's guidance sometimes...

Any comment about whether you intend providing the ability to set the data request limit from Excel??

Thanks

Hi BA

If I were to have a Betangel instance running...but have the auto refresh unticked..does the application still send a data request to Betfair? (It seems to, about 4Req/Sec?).

I just want to have two instances running, one at 20 req/sec and the other at 0, but then be able to reverse the setup quickly if I achieve my goal on this instance (Ie the one running at 20 will be reset to o and visa versa). I know I could go into the "settings" tab on BA on each...but it would be too slow doing it this way especially when in running and the opportunity/edge is lost...
Thanks
Peter
