I downloaded a Bet Angel trail and if it can do what I need I will pay for the software.
I use the cash out facility on Betfair and would like to use the green up option Bet Angel has through Guardian using automation or an excel written formula.
Here is a brief description of what I do on Betfair.
I trade the correct score on football matches on all the leagues around the world that meet my criteria for placing a lay bet on one or more of the selections under correct score.
Once a target profit is reached I green up using the cash out option on Betfair or place a back bet on the lay bet I have exposure on at a higher price to green up. The target profit is a % of my lay stake. Usually 30% but I have some matches where I accept different %'s.
On the weekends the are many games that meet my criteria for placing lay bets and it becomes impossible to monitor all these games on Betfair once all of them are in-play. At times I may have 20 or 30 lay bets out at the same time and place new ones if goals are scored and new matches go in play etc.
I use the cash out option to take a loss if the game is not going according to plan but do not need a formula for that as I cut my losses quickly. If a formula could be written for that I will consider that option at a later date.
I tried to use automation today to see if I programmed the formula correctly. I did not as the market did not green up when it should have. My knowledge of excel is not sufficient to write a formula to achieve what I trying to do.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do what I want?
If so I am willing to pay someone for writing the formula in excel or showing me how to use automation to green up when it should.
Thanks in advance.

You should be able to do this via Automation in Guardian:

Thanks for the reply Online Trader.
I have seen that video and watched most of the others.
None of them help me how to get my position to green up.
I only lay 1 or 2 bets in the correct score market for each match.
The bet I choose is one that will go up in value so that I can back it at a higher price as time goes by. As an example I will lay any other score. If there is no goal scored after a certain period of time the odds will increase and I can green up or I could lay any other score after a goal was scored after the game has started. I place all the lay bets manually as the conditions have to be right i.e. time of the game, odds home team etc.
What I need Bet Angel to do is once I have placed the lay bet to cash me out (green up) after I have made certain profit. The time I place the lay bet will be different for each bet. Sometimes I will place the lay bet before the the start of the game or anytime thereafter but the bet will always be placed manually.
Using the Cash out feature on Betfair does this perfectly but I cannot automate it to cash me out when I have reached a certain profit. I have to constantly be in front of the computer and keep going to each match. That takes too much time and many times a goal is scored before I could go to that game to cash out.
In the online help I searched cash out and all that comes up is green up on the one click page - that is only ideal if I am in front of the computer or scrolling through all the games.
I am looking for Guardian to do this automatically when a profit target is reached.

Hey Grizzlybear,
In the automation section of Guardian there are 3 rules screens - General, Parameters and Conditions.
In the conditions section there is a condition that you can set "Green all selections" for your rule - this condition can be activated for a profit equal or greater than xxx. In the general section you can kick the rule/condition off starting at a partuclar time - i.e. 0 seconds in play or whenever you want - and you then specify how many times the rule will trigger during the game and the length of time after the last trigger - eg for a 90 minute game (add 15 minutes for the break) and you want the trigger to fire every minute - you specify the trigger to fire 90 times and 1 minute after the last trigger. Basically Guardian will test every minute whether your profit figure has been equalled or exceeded - if the condition is met it will green out and will continue to test every minute - but as the profit condition has been met it will not create further transactions.
The one thing guardian does not know is when a goal is scored - it only tests for the profit figure.
Suggest you test your rule in Practice Made.

Hi Grizzly,
Did a quick Guardian rule as described in my last post - and applied to 4 games tonight - Athletico, Rangers, Bolton and Reading - greenup worked as advertised - result 4 x 50% stake. Also I am confused - as you can greenup on the ladder - in fact its better functionality than just "cash out" on betfair.

Hi John,
I did as you said but it never greened up.
Under General Rule type - Green all selections
Arm the trigger 00:01:00 after event goes in play
until 2:00:00 after event goes in play
Allow rule to trigger up to 100 times - wait 5 seconds before rearming
Parameters - no parameters required
Condition type - Green all Profit condition
The green all profit value across all selections
is greater than 10.00
Pressed apply and added to Guardian under automation rules.
Did not green up.
The reason I need guardian to green up automatically is if there are many games and bets I have on Betfair all going the same time. On busy weekends I can have as many as 20 or 30 games going at the same time.
Many times I place bets and do not have the time to keep checking if my profit objective has been reached in all the games. The weekends are when I need it most.
If I can get this to work then there are other bets I can get it to work on like over/under goals. If a goal is scored I place the back bet under and with time the odds come in and I will be able to lock in a profit automatically.
It is almost impossible to monitor all the bets manually.
If I use the ladder which works perfectly I must be in front of the computer and keep scrolling through all the games I am involved in.
Betfair's cash out works well but it takes to long to go through each game. After I place a lay bet I immediately place a back bet to green up. If there is a red card all the bets cancelled so my back bet is not working. Automation should solve that problem.
Many times a goal is scored and I could have greened up but never did.
Thanks for your help.
I will try again.

Hi Grizzly,
Thats interesting - quick question - did you apply your rule to the selected correct score market in Guardian?
The only other reason why it won't green is that there is no liquidity (no unmatched lay bets)in the betfair market.

Hi John,
That is a good question.
I did not assign the formula to any line - not sure how to do that - I want to green up ALL the bets in the correct score market.
I do remember watching a BetAngel video on assigning the rule to line 3 in a football match as that is the assigned line for the draw but cannot find that video again.
Is there something I have to do to assign the automation rule to work on every outcome in the correct score or any other market I want automation to work on eg over/under goals etc.
Thanks ,
Stan

HI Stan,
Go to Guardian - tab Automation (where you set the rule). Next to where it says Edit rules - you have two options - Apply rules to all markets, apply to selected markets. Select the market you want to green up on and then press apply to the selected market - the rule should then appear in the automation section of the market.
For correct score I did not see that you could select individual scores to green up on (but I expect you can) so I did not specify which score - so my green up rule just greens up all selections in the correct score market - although you may want to watch any scores at 1000/1.
As regards using the same rule for other markets - you need to check the specifics for each market - i.e. over/under to ensure your can apply your rule - if you think it does just follow the same procedure as above - or just create another rule for that market. I called my rule "Greenup Unquoted" so I know what it applies to.
Two other things (1) - on your triggers I suggested you re-arm every 60 seconds - as 5 seconds you may find that your previous green maybe queueing to be placed or unmatached and (2) I added another condition (its in the condition list)that it will only send another greening transaction if there are no unmatched bets - just a precaution that if the market is volatile you may end up with unmateched bets that may all end up getting matched.
Good luck - and thank you for the angle - had seen the unquoted score before but I was just using as a hedge from time to time - did not realise in the premier league that only 11% of results ended in unquoted - take out Man City and Liverpool and the %is even lower

Hi John,
Success at last - thanks for your help - all the test games worked well.
One thing I did discover was that if I placed one lay bet or 2 lay bets in the correct score market I was greened up for the same amount of profit in points but a different amount in profits if I greened up as a % of my lay stake. I guess that is obvious but I was not expecting it until I thought about it after seeing the back bets placed.
Pressing the apply rules to all markets was what I needed to do.
I will continue to do more testing before I try will real bets but I am excited that it worked.
You should look at all the major leagues in Europe. Many times you can get odds to lay that are very short especially if a key player is injured. Ibrahimovic for PSG is a perfect example - he is their main scorer and they have struggled since he was injured. In yesterday's game you could have placed a lay bet at 4.4 for any other. It did not take long to green up.
All the best,
Stan

Hi Stan,
Cool - great you got it working. When you green up on something like the correct score market - it will add each selection together to arrive at the green up value and then make individual back bets for each selection to green up.
Yeah have been looking at the other leagues - and yep i saw the short odds on PSG last night.
Make sure you put in those conditions I suggested so you can eleviate any issues with unmateched bets.
Regards
John
