hedging on place market

Forgive me for being stupid but is it not possible to hedge a position across the book on the place markets?
Yes.
But the way Betfair and Bet Angel display the P&L is different to a win market.
In the example below you can see the win/lose position on two runners. The total is shown in the trade profit column.

Thanks for the reply. Feels like playing Ausy racing on the place markets. I was just watching Cavaleri and the place market steadily moves out whilst the win market was moving in. I dont know if that is normal but Im sure worth a watch from the excel boys.

This was the graph of the place market and the winners market. Interesting that there were bigger bets going through the place market than the win market at times.
