Maybe my maths isn't spot on but I think that means they did £737m in betting turnover last year?

Another frustrating day. The volume on the quality at Kempton gets crushed by some junk at Chepstow. I know it's probably different for others, but for the stakes I am using I just can't do these races that are so close to each other. Not only does it ruin the trading but I just can't get big enough stakes safely on to make it worth my while.

Can't wait for the start of the flat season.

Maybe Betfair has scared away some of the big traders with its Premium Charge, meaning more big traders will also do their trading elsewhere as they can't get enough volume...

As you sow, so shall you reap...

True, but if you swing trade on Betfair using moving averages and price bars, and don't rely on weight of money, then your skills will also be applicable to the financial markets.

The markets have been thin for some time now but I was very disappointed with yesterday. I thought Chepstow was complete dross - can't be too many Saturdays on C4 where they have a Class 5 handicap with just £2K to the winner! Mind you they lost the Newcastle card so at least they did cover both NH cards.

It was wild for me, up in one race with some good moves and the equally down in the next race with some crazy moves against me! I soon got fed up!

Its a funny game

Saturday was a great day for me.

Made a very nice total on the day and felt
in control of all trades and movements which is not
always the case.

I think it's different for different people. At my stage of my trading career I need to get lots of money through the market or it is simply not worth it. Therefore I need volume to come through the market.

If you look again at todays card all the racing are clashing and taking the volume from the next race. Only two cards are in the clear which is Newbury and Kelso from 15:00 so a 4/5 meeting day is effectively reduced to 2.

It really shouldn't be this way. Betfair said they were going to use the premium charge to generate more business, but I see no evidence that there is any new money in the racing markets else they would hold up better on days like this.

I guess I will just have to wait for the flat season.

Yeah the money is really last minute today. Rubbish, Saturdays are no longer my most profitable days!

ATRs 10 second if your lucky previews are hardly encouraging people to be either

It was funny to see. Kelso the only race with a decent lead in, so every time it came to Kelso they went to the adverts and returned with a few seconds left. Then they plastered the odds caption all over it. LOL.

I think my frustration isn't borne out of not making enough, just seeing what nice opporuntities are being missed, losing that potential. Still, they are there to show the races so I guess they will always be second in line.

Hi, ive only trading the horses a week, with last w/e as practice.

monday was good with with 16/18 winners and up £5.17 for the day on £2 stakes.

tues/wed was mess due to use error.

thurs was better with 2 losing trades again to user error, othewise £3.22 up

friday - 16/14 and £3.26 up

these are all pre-race and if im can stop the stupid errors should be ok

today was a nightmare, started well with some nice small wins but two big losses due other distractions stopped me in my tracks. Today seemed hard work, perhaps due to overlapping coupon, i quit early as just didnt feel right.

Hi Speedtrip

I found today a bit of a nightmare too! I thought it was due to me doing something wrong, but perhaps it wasn't, given that you also found it challenging.

How did everyone else find today?
