Hi guys,

I just wanted to ask a quick question. Im developing a lay the favourite system for horse racing lets say. And currently its consistently LOSING money. However I had a thought today, if its losing money by laying then would it be correct in saying that I could make money by just keeping all the parameters the same but changing lay to back? Please advise

Thanks

Technically yes but realistically probably not, as you need to factor in the 5% commission you pay on winning bets.

Assuming you have been testing live, download your bet history and pull it into excel. Then do some manipulation to predict what you would have made had the lay bets been back bets.

U may wanna read up on the favourite longshot bias. It's all over the internet, this may be a reason why laying the favourite didn't turn a profit.
