I have an Australian registered account with Betfair, and am interested in purchasing the Bet Angel Professional software for some horse race trading.

I am interested in both local Australian races as well as UK races. As my trading will involve automation, my questions are :

(1) What is the most efficient way of decreasing latency for the Australian races when using Bet Angel from Australia? Would the London-based Bet Angel VPS be of any help? I have heard that Betfair uses local servers for Australian trading.

(2) For the UK races, I presume the BA VPS would be beneficial. I wouldn't be penalized with a diversion through Malta because of my Australian account, would I?

Are there any users in Australia who could pass on the benefit of their VPS experience to Tom?

I log in to Australian races from home (I'm in Australia) and have optimised my router and user profile with my service provider for very low ping (ring your ISP and they will guide you through it).

I also have betangel vps for non Australian events.

But I also use my vps for Australia. Sure I'm 300 ms behind, but in the end, super speed is not necessary for me to be profitable.

I'm often on my iPad with 4g and then to the vps. Again lag doesn't concern me. In any case almost all my decisions are automated.

Hi Gazuty,

Does this mean you have two Betfair accounts? An Australian account for speed in local Horse Racing & Pre Off. Then an overseas account for your VPS trading? So do you also have two Bet Angel licrenses?

Cheers,
Apples
