Hi,
I am wanting to develop my own spreadsheet for a dutch calculator similar to the one built in the BA. This would ability to set stake, set profit and vary the profit. I have the set stake and the set profit worked out but am stuck on varying profit.
I want to develop this to allow me to test selections for instance to set favorite at 0 profit and have 2nd and third favorite at say $ 10 profit. Ba only allows me to use it in the races which are about to occur but if the race has been run I cannot get a result from manually inputting the figures.
I am not able to use the calculator which is free for betdaq as it is available in Australia and hence the calculator cannot be accessed.
I would also like to be able to set a stake which I can vary on the bases where I can set the profit margin different for every runner.
Example 3 runners with odds of
1 odds 3.0 2/1
2 5.2 4.2/1
3 5.3 5.3/1
for a set profit of $ 10
bets are
1 $ 11.67
2 $ 6.73
3 $ 6.60
if profit on horse 1 is set at $ 0 then the bets are
1 $ 4.45
2 $ 4.49
3 $ 4.40
Does anybody have any excel formula which can be used for variable profit set at say $ 2 for the favorite, and is it possible to vary all the profit and set a total stake - the result would be required stakes for a set total stake.
Thanks
dutch variable calculator
Have you had a look at the thread and spreadsheet below?

This seems to have got to a similar stage where the target profit over-ride remains unfinished so probably not much help but it might be worth kicking off the discussion again.

Hi Edgarnaranjo,
You could always use the one built into betangel but you will
need to teak it a bit.
Betangel allows you to stake whatever amount you want to bet even allowing you to loose on abet (meaning that if your total bet is $ 100 and the horse you bet on (wins paying $80) to loose will return $20).
The spreadsheet which eduardoneco provided is based on 3 runners only. So that if you need to back 4 runners you will need to redo the spreadsheet.
Betangel has a good video on how to use it for betting on football results whereby it is possible to back 8 or 9 results and still make a profit or control your loss.
If you do end up with the spreadsheet and only want to back 2 runners simply place large odds for 3rd runner say 1000:1. If you send me your email I will send you my research on this.
