This may sound crazy to most of you but, today I have been blocked to use Betfair.com
I have money on my Uk wallet but strangely betfair requested me to sign with the italian wallet despite I am using a swiss account and still registered as UK residence. :( :( :(
I hope I sort this out, if not it would be the end for me at betfair.

P.s. I have just heard from my mentor, same things happening to her end.

That's bad news, account suspended because you are in the EU and not breaking any law apart from being Italian!

Hi - I assume you are in Italy and they have identified your location from your IP address --- suggest http://www.hidemyass.com - costs about £10 a month. Thats assuming you are not breaking on laws/regulations.

Impossible. My Ip address have been indentified in Germany and Switzelard intermittently from one to the other of not more than 4 weeks. Last time I was on Italian soil, December 2013 and only for holiday!!

Now that I am involved in this ridiculous Betfair move , I have been contacting people non-stop since yesterday. I started to gather information from Italy , I contacted people who could give me some real information about the new situation with Betfair.it.
Apparently many Italians are happy with the launch of Betfair.it , it will give them fully legality, making users less nervous . The liquidity is increasing day by day in small steps . The good news is that there will be three stages that could last about 2 years, here below the list .
Step 1: Italian liquidity , limited markets.
Step 2: International liquidity, limited markets.
Step 3: International liquidity, ( almost ), unlimited markets

As for the use of the software for betting trading , you may be able to interact from and after November 1, 2014 .

Yesterday I thought it was all gone , but considering some new situations, not only I can go alone , (I and my mentor will go in separate ways) , but this thing could open up a new opportunity which I'll be able to share with Italian users as soon as I have been giving more information. I give myself two to three weeks then I can advise you all better.

After several failed attempts to restore my Uk account, I have decided to change my residence to Italy. I am trying to open an account but, I get always the same message:
Your account cannot be open due tecnical problems. Is there any italian who had the same problem?
Is the betfair.it customer support efficient?
Thanks in advance.

An other crazy result. The tecnical support was very helpful and quick. they replied me straight away. Now there is a problem. When I had my UK account I have self exclude me from POKER. I did that, not because I have gambling problems but, because I was concern to leave my account overnight unseen and unprotected. There were rumors back then of some security problems within betfair.
Now there are saying because I signed that selfexclusion I won't be able to open an account with betfair.it.
I really dont' know what to do anymore. Idiots are controlling our lifes and decisions, it's just crazy.

It's obviously so that they are doing some kind of look-up on based on our name+adress+other data you provided when signing up on the UK exchange.

The look-up returns a response showing that your account is marked as "Self Excluded" (even though you only excluded yourself from Poker).

I don't know the Italian licensing rules on this but my general interpretation is that Betfair are probably acting in good faith here. One of many possible explanations could be that Betfair.it are not allowed to self exclude players based on products but only on an account level, therefore the flag on your poker exclusion becomes a stop sign.

Try contacting the UK help desk to investigate how you can lift the existing self exclusion.

I have been having a chat with a UK Betfair rappresentative, I have asked permission to record our conversation. He stated that once I am self excluded from Poker, I won't be able to play poker @ betfair.it but still able to access to sportbook and exchange. This is what I wanted to hear. I dont need the poker option anyway. However I am waiting a response from the italian rappresentative because in the other hand, we have to deal with italian rules on this matter which consider the self exclusion from poker a peg for help and if it's permanent, (because they consider all betfair products related and the same), there is nothing I can do about it.
It's very strange, we are in Europe and still have to deal with an astonishing amount of different rules, country to country, when the actual EU rules say that every countrys should apply the same rules once a licenze is obtained within the europeon zone.

Did you ask the UK rep about how you can lift the poker self exclusion?

Usually there would be a grace period before such a request could be processed.

I requested a permanent selfexclusion long time ago. I was worried about my Uk account being hacked as I had quite lot cash on it.
