Hi folks - and I am sorry if this question sounds really basic but I have searched existing threads but can't find an answer.

How do I lay a specific horse in play once the odds drop to a pre-specified level? e.g. I want to lay a horse with a starting price of 5.0 but don't want to pay that price. So I want to put a lay bet in trade at say, 3.0 and as soon as the price reaches that level the trade will fire automatically. I am sure it is pretty simple but I couldn't immediately do this in practice mode in the Bookmaking screen. Would welcome any help.

Dark Horse. You can either do this in automation or the simplest way is through 'manual bet'. All you do is pick your stake. Pick your odds and then click 'keep' at bottom of screen. This means that your bet will only fire when your horse reaches that figure. You can do as many horses as you wish this way. If however, for what ever reason, the race goes 'suspended' before the off, because of a fault at bf or on track this bet would then cancel. Doesnt happen a lot but best to keep an eye on it from time to time. Roger

rogerlisa is almost correct except that using this method the bets will not wait to be fired or triggered. They will be submitted to the exchange straight away and remain unmatched if the current price is higher than that requested (or lower if you asked for a BACK bet).

If you only want to submit the bets once a certain price level has been reached you will need to use automation using a 'Place Lay bet' rule type with a fixed odds price condition.

Or you could even use the older legacy automation tab which is simpler to set up but would be ideal for this scenario. See here - http://www.betangel.com/user-guide/basi ... tting.html
