Hi, I've been doing some work recently on the over/under markets on football matches and I'm doing OK. I'm wondering if there is a website, (or any other method), that calculates whether you are better off backing the over selection or laying the under selection? In markets with 2 selections doing these things is exactly the same but I am often unsure what the equivalent prices are.
For example backing something at 100 is obviously the same as laying the other selection at 1.01, and backing a selection at 2 is the same as laying the other selection at 2 but things get a lot harder to calculate at other less easy prices. I'm wondering how to work this out? There's loads of wierd and wonderful betting calculators out there but I've been unable to find one for this.

If you have something priced at 3.00 then that is 1/4 = 25% of the market. To work out the opposing position you would simply do 1-.25 = 75% - 1/.75 = 1.33
If you look in the bookmaking or dutching sections of the software you can actually get the software to perform this automatically as detailed in the manual.
Of course this is only an advantage if Betfair are not doing this already in the market. Betfair now cross match across both positions in the market. So if you back at 4's, Betfair will show your bet to website users at 4's but also as a lay of 1.33 on the other side of the book.
