Why does GREENING say n/a?

When using the Dutching/Bookmaking function to back/lay, the greening "states" are set to n/a on the one click screen, which means you cannot green up.

I have been trying to use the Bookmaking function to place lays on the whole field with a view to greening up when some or all of the lays are taken but the n/a means the greening function wont work.

Is there a reason for this?

hi james, you will have the greening up restriction box unchecked on the settings page. BEWARE though it is often better to close positions manually when dutching or bookmaking.

Thanks Nellie.

I understand the Bookmaking Rules marker now. However, it doesn't in any case solve my problem.

I am trying to Lay all the horses to a fixed liability (similar to the way you can do it on a normal Betfair screen) except I want to use the Global functions of Offsets/Stops and Fill/Kill (I also want to green up manually). I tried using the Bookmaking screen as it seems the only "one view" screen for laying, but Bookmaking won't invoke the Global Functions if bets are submitted through it.

Although the One Click, Automation and Manual screens permit the Global functions to be used, they do not automatically calculate liability and requires that you have to manually calculate liability per horse.

It seems that we have to write our own code via Excel if we want to submit multiple bets, with automatically calculated liabilities when we wish to utilise the Global Functions.

Pop it up as a suggestion and we can put it on the list.

Also, are you aware of the following features in the current version of Bet Angel Professional ? - they may help you achieve what you want :

1) The 'Auto stake' area at the top of Bet Angel has a 'Liability' option that will change the staking of all runners to have the specified liability.

2) The custom columns that can be added to the one-click screen can be defined to use a fixed stake based on liability. e.g. Using that facility you could create three new columns one laying for a liability of £50, one for £100 and one for £200 etc.

The n/a on the older version of BA was quite frustrating

However, in saying that, if you've entered bets into the market through Dutching or Bookmaking, the trade profit column is completely distorted

I would strongly recommend using a calculator to help close out positions & not to take to much notice of what BA is telling you
