Fill rate is painful on Betfair

Markets seem pretty volatile today.

Not much chat about Ascot on the forum this year? People busy or fewer full timers about this year?

Was about to post to ask what people though of the markets. As Betdaq is trading well I've spent a lot more time there this year.

Out of interest Peter did you up your activity on BD today compared to yesterday?

I have been on Betdaq and found it a lot more volatile today v yesterday. The fill rate didn't feel quite as good to me today when the price was stable but when it was moving around it was quite easy to get filled.

I am down today on yesterdays total, I found the early races not as good as yesterday but the later races better today. But given there is no Premium Charge at 60% on BD both days have been very pleasing and paid for a good bit of the renovations I am currently undertaking :)

I wish BD would name the races Ascot - (then name of the race) rather than just the name of the race. I nearly missed the last as I didn't spot it in the list.

Shame BD isn't like this everyday of the week, if it were BF could stick it up their @rse.

Do you have any stats on how BD compares this year to last?

Couple of things that stick out to me are that you can get a good feel for the bookies money and what that means for the market and also that punters would a lot of the time be better off on BD than BF as the price is often a tick or two higher.

Enjoying being back amongst the racing and trading for the week, will be back for Goodwood but doubt the markets will be anywhere near as good.

Barely any pro manual racing traders left these days from what I can tell. You can feel it in the markets too, most of the time it feels like you're just battling it out against one giant market making bot rather than an ecosystem of traders like in the old days when you were trading. Explains also why it can be calm one day then so pushed about the next.

Hope your okay!

Wish I hadn't rushed to get to my desk. Messed up the first giving my first loss of the week, having rushed home after being locked out and ended up sitting on the door step for 15 mins watching the clock tick down to 2.30pm.

Time to reset the mind set for the next...

Lots of cuts and bruises but nothing broken fortunately. Hit a pothole, went over the handlebars, through the undergrowth and straight into the canal. Was at full pelt as well.

Sounds fair, its odd some days its fine others it can be crazy... last month or so its felt that way - probably the full timers it effects most as it seems to eat away/target bigger stakes at times too. Hopefully it'll pass

Yes, I'm pushing harder each day. But I should have a stabilising effect on the market TBH.

I have been struggling on BD all day until that race. Really good market with lots of money around and the bookies laying off the big oncourse bets at under the odds really helped. Had to sit with a large liability for a few minutes but was pretty low risk.

Hopefully more of the same in the last couple of races.

How have you found it today Peter?
