There is some seriously big money getting thrown around today. Odds moving 10-20 tics in seconds! Generally the last 30 seconds or so and mostly on the Back side. Not been caught to badly but I imagine some people have been stung on some of the huge fast moves today.

People warming up for Cheltenham?

I doubt it, there is no substance to the markets today. There are some crazy moves around, I've been caught a couple of times.

I am having the age old problem of little of my money getting matched. I can put small amounts in and the market is just running away from it. The week before and after Cheltenham generally isn't great but this is very poor fodder today.

I was lucky I guess, I was on ther right side of most of these moves.
I layed one horse at 2.84 and got out at 3.35, it continued to 4.3! I would have kept riding the trend, but because I use a trailing stop, it came down hit my stop, then continued on...what a shame! lol

Does someone have the graph printscreen of that race that drifted from 2.4 to 4.2?

Joao, if you can ID the race we probably have something on it.

I can't make a penny at Catterick today! But have been much more cautious after yesterday so doing generally better but it's not great. I remember this from previous years, that the week in front and behind Cheltenham was not much fun.

Both Yesterday and today have seen me take a beating just as I was thinking things were coming together.

Its interesting that others have found things difficult maybe I'm not as crap as I currently think I am ...but then again maybe I just didnt have as much of a feel for things as I thought I had... only time will tell I suppose.

Hope you didnt get too badly burned if at all.

The fill rate has been terrible the last couple of days. Its interesting that Peter can predict when things are likely to be bad, maybe he should start a long range fill rate forecast for each week, would have been a nice one to have taken off!

Can't say I found yesterday particularly great but at the same time it was far from rubbish for a Monday I felt.

Today I have actually found to be quite good, I approached it like Peter and looked more for the safe trades and managed to keep losses well under control with just one very small loss.

As Peter said the week before Cheltenham is always poor. As Barry Dennis's assistant said on ATR - it will always be quiet as people are saving themselves for next week, so it has to be expected that this week isn't likely to be great.

As for Catterick - the amounts there were dire, quite a few races we struggling to be above £50k traded at 5mtp. But with hands and heels races, hunter chases etc you can't be expecting much.

Looking forward to Cheltenham being done for another year and the start of the flat season where it isn't all about the one meeting but rather about the whole season.
