Twitter exchange between Betfair operations director Ian Chuter and I:

Me: Hi Ian. From the @betangel forum, it seems Betfair is regularly having outages. Is this being addressed? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8160&start=340

IC: define "regular" - in my world thats every week last full outage was January time

Any thoughts? Is Mr Chuter right in believing that there have been no outages since January?

So what happened last Sunday then?
Was that not an official outage?

Perhaps it was similar to the British Rail "wrong kind of snow" excuse

Was it a full outage though, ie API and non-API?

He took into account his office pc too. If it works than it's not a full outage

Failure to admit to these outages doesn't give me much confidence that it will be sorted anytime soon.

Guys
Just off topic slightly..
I know Betfair gets bad press when things go wrong..but one division within Betfair that I always get superb service from is BDP, In particular a guy called Neil.
He always responds quickly to emails; and in the past he has saved me incurring Transaction charges when I made a stupid mistake by running two instances on my account etc
Anyway top service as always and I just wanted to note it for the record..
We are alway quick to criticise them when things go wrong, so equally we should praise them when things go right
regards
Peter

I have to agree with you - to a certain extent. But it is Betfair's 'Take it or leave it' Cavalier attitude - when one is unable to close a trade for instance - that pi**es me off!
