Hi All,

Maybe someone can help me. I have been manually trading horses in play with a degree of success. However I am trying to Automate the process if I can. What I want to do is:
Lay a horse "X" at a pre-determined price
As soon as the lay is matched I am backing at a price.

To me it seems simple enough in the sense that I could for example use the global settings manually and this could work ie use offset with greening. However with the Automation I can get it to lay any of the horses at my price and sometimes the back bet is matched before the lay. Everything in Automati
on seems pre-determined by time whereas I want a horse ( I don't know which one) to be laid at price X and then backed at price X.. Simples I think :D
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it...

Hi,

I am new to BA and this is something I am trying to do myself. It can be a little demoralising when nobody replies to your post. :)

I know you can do this in the automation (global)settings using tick sizes but I'm not sure if you can set the first lay bet to self activate at a specific price related to the BSP then ( and only then)fire in an automated back bet related to the price of the lay bet and green up or not. Maybe I'm wrong.

What I am trying to find out is how can I manually place a lay bet in running on horses which then automates a back bet at 30% (example) above the lay bet and as an option fire in a stop loss at say 50%.

E.g

I place a lay bet of £100 at 2.1 manually which is matched. The Back bet is automated to go into the market at 30% higher 2.7 and if matched, and only if matched)green or another option not to green and just remove liability. Second option is to set a stop loss at, maybe, 1.4 and hedge if price drops quicker.

Any view really helpful.

I think you can achieve this by using combination

- Offset bet (with greening)
- Place fill or kill bets with "X" seconds delay

I believe this combination of options should place initial Lay bet and wait until this bet is matched and than offset bet should be placed. Use long time "X" if the Lay bet should sit there and wait for being matched.

I suggest that you create separate set of conditions for each runner in Betfair order.(that is what I do - I have 20 conditions to cover races with up to 20 runners)

I hope it helps
David
