Hi,floyd thank you for your reply but the link you gave only has a zip file version and my computer(vista)will not open zip files.Hence i was trying to find a self extracting version.

Hi Tiggs,

Windows Vista can handle zip files by default. It calls them compressed (zipped) folders but you shouldn't have a problem.

I would look again at your operating system. If it can't do the basic things like opening zip files then there may be other things missing you may rely on.

Hi the tub,thank you for your answer i know in the past when i have tried to open a zip file the screen has kept flashing until i turn the computer off.Thank you for the link and advice.

Often overlooked, but I find 7zip to be the best free compression tool. Handles all the frequent types of compression...did I mention it was free?!
