Premier League 2014/15
We've got Rojo and Blind to come in to face QPR so we are ok there. With Hernandez (and possibly Welbeck) leaving, along with RVP possibly going in for surgery, Utd needed another world class striker, and who better than Falcao!Golfer wrote:Is he going to play CB?

Man U spent £150m in the window, 18% of the total splashed out by EPL clubs.

i've heard of buying the title, but that's a lot to pay for 7th place

Great business by United IMO. PL or for that matter teams around Europe would love to have Falcao, RVP, Rooney and Di Maria as attacking players. And don't forget, we are still waiting on Rafael and Shaw to get fit, and Rojo and Blind will be ready to play against QPR, so it's not like we are lacking defensively either.
If you don't spend money these days you will be left behind I'm afraid. I don't get all this criticism saying "man utd are trying to buy the title", haven't City, Chelsea and Arsenal done that in the past and even now? I think everyone is afraid of the resurgence of Manchester Utd.superfrank wrote:i've heard of buying the title, but that's a lot to pay for 7th place
I can't see Man Utd finishing outside the Top 4 this season, I think Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal will be fighting for that spot IMHO.
2009-10 25 goals
2010-11 16 goals
2011-12 24 goals
2012-13 28 goals
2013-14 9 goals (from 17)
And that's just in the league!
Well we can be rest assured Falcao will settle in easily, his goal records read:Golfer wrote:Late signings less than ideal, naive to assume that they will settle immediately and get up to speed with the English game.

2.2 on BFGolfer wrote:I'll lay you £100 @ evens for a UTD top 4 finish.
they're bound to start winning a few games soon with all those top players, but i agree that a finish outside the top 4 would be a total disaster for them.
Radamel Falcao told 'welcome to the best club in the world' by Ryan Giggs on arrival at Manchester United

is that the same Ryan Giggs that played for only 1 club in his entire career?!
arrogance (of the club and fans) is why i loathe them.
+1
I've been a bit guilty of engaging in some Man U schadenfreude, but if you support any team out of the top five you will know how often we have to put up with endless hopes crushed. So it's quietly quite amusing to see a top team in trouble. With all that spending, they HAVE to quality for the CL next year or else it will be a real problem.
I'm sure it's not just me thinking this but I remember Liverpool's fall from the top and it does have echoes of that.

DI Maria is on Fire.. 3 assist, Argentina leading 3-0 against Germany. As I speak Di Maria scored the 4th goal.
Di Maria is the best sign in Europe without doubt.

Thanks for the offer Golfer but as Superfrank says, if I wanted a bet I would take the 2.2 on BFGolfer wrote:I'll lay you £100 @ evens for a UTD top 4 finish.

Just of curiosity guys, from what you have seen on the pitch and from the transfer market, what are your top 6's? Mine would have to be:
1st Chelsea
2nd Manchester Utd
3rd Manchester City
4th Arsenal
5th Liverpool
6th Spurs

The man u circus is gr8 entertainment but at what a price...there is no guarrantee that LVG style of management will go down that well in the premier league, we only have to look at his games in charge so far this season. Falcal and Di Maria are quite clearly there for the money only and i doubt give a toss about man u or any other club that they have played for.. and will probably be off at the end of the season if man u do not qualify for europe... and the bank stops supporting their transfer madness.

No, you hate us because of our success!
Jealousy is an ugly emotion Frank!
A lot of United supporters are crowd-following, success-following morons who are uninterested in the finer points of the beautiful game, but that can be said of any successful club. I wonder how many of today's City fans were cheering their side on when they were in Division Two.
