So are most players in top division football.

Not many Premiership footballers end up spending their career playing for the team they supported as a boy.

That's fine though. They might not love the club, but as long as they love the game enough to give 100% every week, then the fans can't complain.

Van Gaal has suggested United have no chance of winning the league this year

If they don't go close having spent that sort of money, plus no European distractions then he will have failed terribly

Today's match is so important for United, they need a convincing win.

From my figures, over the last 5 seasons (not including this one) of Prem League games, over 3.5 has occurred 585/1900 times. True odds implied being 3.25. Under is 1315, true odds of 1.44

Looking for a 10% edge over true odds, results in needing an under of 1.59+, or an over of 3.57+.

£11 available at 1.60 under as I type.....

Probably just as well I'm paper trading this thing for a while, having no love for Utd, or Harry, I'm hoping for a goalfest, then a punchfest, both teams docked 25 points :P :P

I bet Sir Alex is smiling right now, thinking 'Finally the glory days are returning!'. :D

We now have the manager and we have the squad to achieve great things. I imagine that the people eagerly awaiting United's demise (hello Frank) will once again be disappointed!

Di Maria looks the business

Ferdinand looks like an ageing cart horse destined for the abattoir

Fancy QPR very strongly for the drop - they are old, slow and shit up front

As a United fan, I think everyone is getting way too carried away with the victory over QPR. They are heavily favoured to beat Leicester on the weekend which I find ridiculous considering how well Leicester have played against some of the big teams recently. In fact, the other top 4 contenders; Arsenal and Liverpool face tough away games and could struggle. I think Chelsea could firm to approx. 1.75 (in the winners market) if the previously stated teams to not get the results desired. With Chelsea away to City, I think this could be a great lay if Chelsea are at least 1.75, considering the huge upside here.

We now have a top players, a top manager and a great team spirit. That can be a deadly combination. Look at what we achieved under Fergie without the first item in that list!

Van Gaal approaches his management the way a top trader approaches the markets. He has a system that's worked for years and years, which he's going to stick with through thick and thin. Not only that, but he's gotten rid of players who don't have the ability or belief to play the way he wants them to play.

I think we can definitely hold our own with the likes of City and Chelsea going forward. The contrast with how we played under Moyes couldn't be starker - it's almost like comparing a pub team with a World Cup squad!

No doubt Man Utd are much improved but I have a very high opinion of Leicester. I think LVG will revert to a back 3 to fit Shaw into the team, and Rojo into LCB. I thought everyone underrated the performance of Rafael on the wing, that is what United have been missing when Valencia plays. Anyways, it will be a very interesting weekend ahead.

I know your writing is normally perfect Jeff so I got to ask. Did you mean, "a top player" (singular), or "top players" (plural)? :D

Please don't go to skool on my English. I've been in Asia 14 years and get by on hand gestures

In the words of Oasis, 'True perfection has to be imperfect'. :)

Its a great line by the way. The point of perfection means there is only way after that.
