Can't believe they cocked up Odean's run in the St Leger. How can you prepare a horse for a Group 1 and it not make the start?

Well Ive not traded manually today...but just out of interest..I checked my sons account. This is automated and has a condition in the settings to ensure that the transactions doesn't go over 1000/Hour.
This condition has been in there since he started on Betfair 5/6 years ago and is a condition that regularly hit the buffers in terms of 1000 tx/Hour.
I just checked the betangel log file and it placed 13 bets all day! ..and to add insult to injury; not all them got matched!
The problem is; if you relax the settings, it turns a profitable system into a losing strategy
Its going to be a long winter
Regards
Peter

You have mentioned this happening a few times, are you able to expand on why you think it is happening? Tighter spreads? Less volume?

not sure really..it's not the volume. the spreads are still there (although to a much lesser extent) . there seems to be lots of smaller stakes in the market too (some sub £2), which doesn't help..
I'm not saying it can't be done, but it must be hard if you were just starting out

Perhaps increased automation by other users?

Yes there is an element of that Andy.
I did program mine to ignore the prices with small sums against them..as the price will pass through them easily..it helped
because you can't get full market depth in excel there is only so much you can do

somebody layed favorite and second fav with 15k each at Brighton 16:50. These big bets got matched. The winner in that race was Alnoomaas

Another big lay bet was at Listowel 16:35 on Danity Diva which appeared 25sec before the off and was kept 2min inplay with only 15k matched. Danity Diva lost in the end. Although she appeared to be leading first part of the race the price was heading only upwards.

2.50 chepstow, why so little money after a withdrawal. Lots got cancelled at the withdrawal but the money left in the market is nothing. Its as though someone forgot to press the bot back on as its 6mins over.

You know Chepstow is delayed?

Yes, I realised that but after 4 mins and horse was pulled out all the 1000s disappeared in the queue as bets were cancelled on the suspend I guess and there was absolutely nothing. Zero amounts in queues. It was as though the bot monitor had gone for a brew and didn't realize. Usually even when delays it keeps slopping away but the withdrawal I presume changed something.

I switched away from it to return later, so didn't see that. Would have been interesting to look at how the market reformed.

I quite like it when races are late, if they don't clash with something else.

I just nipped out to pick up my daughters dog and missed that one at Ponte 14:20..(yep my daughter thinks as I work from home I am a dog minder! :D )

I noticed that lackaday touched a 1000 to 1 a couple of times and came right back down..(think it went as low as 2.68??)
I had a small green on it..but it should have been much better..
Just wondered how close it came to winning in the latter stages..
