Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the update & changes.

Other considerations , course form , perhaps highest handicap mark won from , current form.

Will/is there a differential between the AW tracks , as thought today a runner at Lingfield showed as a win on POLYTRACK surface when won at Wolverhampton , so as different surface entirely not strictly accurate.

Oh and of course world peace !!

Charlie ;)

What runner was that? You have 2 types of track,Polytrack & Fibresand, and of course, Lingfield also has a turf track.Let me know and I'll check.

I have got Newcastle as a galloping track? Did you mean another?

Thanks for checking everyone. It get a bit hypnotic after a few hours and the obvious is not always apparent

Hi Nigel,

ARLECCHINO´S LEAP 2.20 Lingfield , listed ploytrack surface 2 runs 1 win 50% , win was @Wolverhampton (firbresand ?) the other run Kempton (5/9)...hope my observations not being seen as criticism , rather constructive.

Finding the data very useful last couple of days as off work for a week (holidays) and making most of my time (Ha Ha) doing as many races as possible  )

Hi Nigel
Using proform I am in the habit of using the terms easy, sharp, stiff, galloping, undulating as the main characteristic or a combination of these for further breakdown.
Only Chepstow is indicated as galloping/undulating, so I take it Newcastle would be classed as galloping/flat surface the way you are doing it.

I do know the fences are stiff and there is a steady rise from 5 fences out to the finish, or in the case of flat racing a steady rise into the last turn to the finish. These make the course very testing.

Shame there's no race track "bible". Often you'll find course charactersitics as L/H, Galloping, Flat or L/H, Galloping, Undulating or just L/H, Galloping

What are we supposed to assume then? Bit of both? average surface? slightly cambered? I really wish they'd put something in there.

Need to do a bit more digging re race distances. Have a look at all the 5f distances:

5f
5f2y
5f4y
5f6y
5f10y
5f11y
5f13y
5f16y
5f34y
5f43y
5f59y
5f110y
5f140y
5f161y
5f193y
5f200y
5f207y
5f212y
5f213y
5f217y
5f218y

Altogether there are 190 different distances, and (to me) it seems ludicrous to report a 7.5 furlong race winner as winning a 7f race.

Omitted a few races during the day as they have little or no form to go on.

Cheers,Nigel.

Races for tomorrow up until 17:30, again, races with little or no form have been omitted.

Note:still have to update the distances, and probably won't post again until next week as work is starting to pile up, so busy weekend!
