I have been dabbling with advanced automation and although its obviously not as powerful as excel integration, i do like the concept of it and a lot of people would probably struggle to cope with all the vba etc in excel.
What I would like is a feature whereby in guardian you have a number of configurable data fields for each race loaded that are then available to refer to in the automation editor. This would allow me to do things like automatically adjust stakes based on race type/weather etc.
For example I set 'custom field 1' in guardian to 'heavy' or 'h' and then in guardian you have a condition 'custom field 1' = "blah blah". (also > < etc). You could then have a rule that only fires half stakes if the ground is heavy etc. It would also be great if you could tell the back/lay rules to take a stake from these same 'custom fields' so if you are unsure about a particular days racing you could lower the stakes in your custom fields in turn automatically adjusting stakes for each rule that refers to the custom field for stakes.
I just envisage these fields as extra columns in the guardian display that you can enter data into if you wish to use them in automation
If this is the ramblings of a mad man, please feel free to ignore me
