Started the website. Just to upset the Betfair/Betdaq people, I'm concentrating on data capture. It's free and "educational" ;), so they can't complain about it. If they do, **** em.

I'm using Betdaq so the layout will be slightly different from Betfair, but you'll get the idea.

Tried to be as basic as poss, with a view to helping the complete novice start to be able to design their own sheets.

I'll post the data capture code tomorrow in lesson 4.

As I'm new to websites, expect the odd cock up, as I'll be experimenting with a user comments section, sign in thingy etc, etc.

I have been looking for a site like this for a long time. I use Bet Angel with Betfair and although i consider myself more than a beginner/intermediate user of Excel, i find VBA coding a bit of a challenge. Having someone explaining and better still showing us Step by Step is a valuable addition to anybodies trading skills. Keep up the good work and may we all benefit from your knowledge. If you would like my e-mail address please let me know. Happy trading and coding. KEEP IT GREEN! :D

I tried to get one of our support guys to document this properly, but it never happened, so thanks to Nigel for doing it.

Added min/max and averages. Appears as a download on the "adding to the data capture" page. BetDaq only.

Somefeed back please as to whether it works, is it easy to understand? If it doesn't work what error message are you getting, what version of Excel are you using etc.

Thanks,Nigel

HI Nigel
I haven't had time to properly look at this.
I did notice however that you had included VBA code to clear the old market data.
Yesterday I was running on auto and I have a couple of excel commands within the spreadsheet to determine what my maximum win is and maximum loss (i.e. SMALL/LARGE Commands). I use this this as a safety feature and it automatically updates the stakes if I am am "green"..(i.e. it scales on the fly)
What I have found in the past is that when a old data is left populated in the spreadsheet, the above two commands are useless..so this single feature or being able to clear old data will help
Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing how it develops
Regards
Peter

This may be a daft question, but would it work with Open Office or any other open source software?

To be honest, I've never tried. But you can download the sample workbook here and try it.
