As Peter said, I think it is only impacting on people login in. I'm sure you will be fine, but just keep an eye out I suppose.

New one on me this morning: -

Description: Unable to locate the server named "portal-fesenvip.services.betfair (2)" --- the server does not have a DNS entry. Perhaps there is a misspelling in the server name, or the server no longer exists. Double-check the name and try again.

very scary - you think you have a max liability by commiting a large percentage of your bank knowing you will exit if it goes against you ( tennis ) only risking 2% of your bank and all of a sudden you are hit by a " Black Swan " ( highly improbable , high impact event !!! - although not so sure about the highly improbable bit ! )and all of a sudden a huge lump of your bank is 100% at risk.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............................

Need contingency

Hi, just signed into BA and got this message.

While connecting using API, Betfair returned the following message:

An exception occurred when logging into Betfair using the API.

The operation has timed out.

I can get into BA, but i can't see my balance and i can't select an markets to bet on.

Any ideas whats happened guys , thanks.

I Feel sorry for ppl with trades in play
Not only do you have to contend with trading but also the added obsticle which is Betfairs Crappy service
They get enough commision for the job!!
So they should do it right

Sure is freddy!

and does anyone else share the same concern as me over the forthcoming API change?

They struggle to keep things running smoothly when they are not fiddling around so I can only guess how often it will be crashing when they enforce the new API.

These type of events can kill off a newbie. And having money in other exchanges is not always an option for people starting out and even if it was you cannot always be sure what Betfair will do with the market when they come back online...

What fun for a Monday... :(
