Bet angel practice

I know its only practise mode, but how realistic is it.
I have a few automation strategies i have been testing.

For example i have set if current odds 1.01 and odds 2.1 place at 1.01 as in certain races the 2nd horse thats goes around 2.0 -2.1 wins more.

lots get matched at 2.12 2.08 2.02 etc which one so it works
But I also got matched at 3.8 2.38 & 2.98 and these went onto win...

Please can someone explain?
