I cannot believe the stupidity of some trainers, owners, jockeys etc. I guess I have seen it all before and I it's long odds on I will see it again.
You have a horse that is a brilliant front runner, he loves bowling along in front and always produces his best using that style of running. The horse has superb form and the only concern is the slightly fast ground. Then the rain comes and your prayers are answered because now the ground has come good too.
"I know!" say the connections "let's be really stupid and settle him in 6th or 7th position so he gets all the shit from track kicked up into his face". So they take a horse with a chance to write his name into the record books and instead of letting him do what he is best at they ruin his chance from the off. The horse hated it and you could see him shaking his head from side to side and burning off energy that he could ill afford to waste.
I just hope the horse is well or that we aren't fed some crappy excuse about the poor run.
