Let's see - changeover on 31 October - Derby Day at Flemington on 1 November - Melbourne Cup on Tuesday 4 November - Oaks Day Thursday 6 November. It's also a bit risky for a trader to switch over before that as Cox Plate Day is Saturday 25 October. Keep the fingers crossed in the hope that it all works for the biggest trading days of the Aussie racing calendar.

I don't think there is a good time for a changeover, as there is always a major tournament or a high-liquidity market almost every day. However, for us Aussie traders, I agree, they have hit us at our busiest.

i am only gonna trade with a limited bank and only the more liquid meetings until this transition is well and truely completed and bedded in.

i dont believe betfair are capable of doing this without causing a load of taders to lose their banks and possiblky several banks, and i am not going to be one of them.

bad few weeks ahead in my opinion
Am with you on this, i will switch back to practice mode and build strategies untill the change

Please could you send more details into [email protected] as we haven't seen any issues with the update of Net Stake. If you are able to send a link to a video, that'd be even better.

i traded the newmarket card and 3 of the worcester races.

all ok feels a bit "lumpy" sometimes and response can momentarily hit 300 to 400 (for less than a second), i guess its my communication settings needing to be tweaked for this new api?

the big red R on the left of the communication windows at the bottom is not there, is this a glitch or is there no need for the user to break the connection?

other than that fine :)

The communications layer has been completely rewritten and there should be no need to reset communications. The NG API is a bit jittery at times, with occasional slower response from betfair, but the Bet Angel connection smoothing is ideal to handle that. You'll see the higher numbers every so often, but it shouldn't feel worse to use. The new API is much better than it was six months ago - we've used it for our own trading for weeks and haven't seen any impact in our P&L.

The first few days of November are bound to be a bit interesting, but betfair will be expecting increased load through the NG API servers, so hopefully will react quickly if things start to creak!

My programs have been logging a lot more error messages that I don't understand this week. I wouldn't be surprised if it completely failed when switched...

tried new beta only for a few markets to see that it is very slow in comparison to 1.35
What kind of improvement do we have if response times are at least 50% slower. Tried different settings and it still feels like trading aus markets. I will keep old version as much as I can.

The new API's performance between 2pm to 3pm today was appalling, but has improved slightly now. We've captured some data and sent it to betfair, but we don't expect a response until Monday. The 3pm race seemed to show a caching problem and was pulsing in-play on and off for one minute and then pulsed suspended when the race finished. We haven't seen that on another race since. At least they've now delayed the API 6 switch-off until 10th Nov, hopefully they can resolve these issues by then.

Before I delve into the beta version... Will all ms settings and profiles carry over to the beta version?

Thanks
