Unusable so slow it's displaying the amount available and the amount waiting on the same line for a second or so, the old api is perfect showing 31 - 40ms constantly is this the new api or a Bet Angel problem?

i am finding it feels "lumpy" but i cant say that it is performing worse than the old api or better.

i have been trading with both this afternoon and i cant say that the old as any advantage over the new or visa versa.

but the new one does feel very different and feels "lumpy" as i said and has some momentarily enormous response times (usually less than a second).

it feels worse to me but results seem to say no better or worse----strange :?

That's how we feel about our trading too. The API behaviour is different and jittery, but it doesn't seem to impact our P&L. Well apart from yesterday approaching that 3pm race, but that was obviously a more significant API problem and not normal behaviour.

There are no known bugs with the 1.37.1 build, so if there anything anyone wishes to query, capture a few screenshots and send them into support. Try to capture both the responsiveness times and the prices in a collection of screenshots. Also send us information about the PC you use, your internet speed, your internet provider and your location.

The more information we can collect from real usage of the new betfair API, the easier it'll be to discuss it with betfair.

Something is wrong, you can
spin your mouse in a loss position scrolling up the ladder and then it seems you are in profit and it is very sticky, betfairs way to destroy susessfull traders

Well it's normal behaviour of the ladder to show your exit profit at all prices up and down the ladder, so a loss at the current price could turn into a profit if you could exit at a different price.

So are you saying the P&L column of the ladder is redrawing but the odds of the ladder aren't updating? The new API requires a bit more CPU power than the old one, so is your CPU maxing out in task manager?

Start Windows Task Manager and look at the CPU percentage on the Performance tab. It looks slightly different on each version of Windows, but all versions show similar information.

If you want to run Task Manager from the command line it's called: taskmgr

Which version of Windows do you use and what is the spec of your PC?

Windows 7
Proccessor AMD 2.80 ghz
Ram 2.5 Gb
64 Bit operating
I will try what you have said, it may be a Betfair problem
So as understand we do not have to go in settings and touch the communicator no more for a bit of speed
Some of the control adjustments have gone

Out of interest how have you coded this because don't you need an unmatched lay to place a lay below £2 and the same for backs??

Oh that spec should be fine, you shouldn't be getting anywhere near 100% CPU with that. Still worth checking though to make sure nothing else on the PC is killing it (virus protection/malware checkers etc).

We've seen the betfair API pulsing one slow update every three or four calls today, but again it hasn't hurt the P&L.

The only comms setting that's been removed is the data request limiter (as betfair don't charge for calls above 20 per second now). You can still control all the other refresh rates and tune how Bet Angel reacts to a slow request.

Oh and we removed the big red 'R' comms reset icon, because that isn't necessary anymore.

Bet Angel Connection Smoothing has been very useful in dealing with these occasional slow repsonses, so I wouldn't turn that off. A setting of 'Medium' is correct for most connections.

LinusP,

I don't know the exact calls that are made, but I know it's been simpler than doing the same thing with API 6. It has allowed sub-minimum betting to be applied to all betting routines.

I've noticed that when placing a under £2 bet there's still £2 bet as help. And transaction counter goes up by two.
