This is a strategy I like but I need for someone to explain something.

At the weekend I decided to try this First Goal Odds bet. I layed the 0-10 minutes bet at 5.2 and waited for the match to start. After about 7 minutes the back odds started to drift - brilliant - I backed at odds of 11.3 and fixed in a free bet. After 10 minutes, no goal!

After the match ended - two goals had been scored - I checked my account and saw I had won nothing!! How can that be, I had a free bet and there were no goals scored in the first 10 minutes!

Confused :?

It's early in the morning so i hope i'm reading yes right but if your trade was on a goal in the first 10 minutes then you left your bet on a goal in the first 10 minutes. You should of greened up or left your lay for ten minutes..

Because you layed and then backed 0-0 it does mean you get a free bet, but the game would have had to finish at 0-0 for you to have made money.

I didn't use BetAngel on this particular bet as there was a delay on my repayment for 'Trader'. It was done on the Betfair site. However, if I had used BetAngel I could have greened up - yes?

Yes. Once you 'green up' you lock in that profit or loss. You could have done the same on BF if you had looked at top of screen and clicked 'take this amount'

Actually I have just tried this on practice mode and I have to admit I was wrong - it would appear that you cannot green up. Perhaps if you referred this to admin they may give you a reason why or check the rules for this bet on BF.

No, the green up option did not give a back bet and therefore could not back after laying and no greening up. As it happened I won on both Liverpool and MK Dons matches with lay bets.

This morning I checked all last night's English games and all but one had no goal scored in the 0-10 minute opening play.

I am doing Man City and Stoke matches tonight but I think it will be the same as last night - we'll see!!

you might like to look at the under/over markets which are similar to your original trade, if no goal scored at say 10 mins you can trade out for a small profit. groovy

I'll try that myself too. I just have a feeling that you might be right.
