Hi
anyone know the following
I was having trouble understanding this but am slowley getting to know whats it is about, i have yet to test it this afternoon (practice mode off course)but am lost on a couple of things
1) I cannot put my ladder or seperate any features on BA on my second screen
2)Do you have to have your original internet connection running to operate it, so saying i went to Costa Cafe and they said here is your wifi connection log on, do i log on to that then connect to my server on VPS which would perform alot better than Costa, is that correct thats how i understand it, but if you cant split screens for me that is a negative over speed
Thanks
Using VPS for first time question re screens

Assuming you are manually trading, your mouse clicks have to go:
Computer in Costa > to the VPS > to Betfiar > Response from Betfair to VPS > From VPS to Computer in Costa.
I personally have never been sold on trading manually from a VPS. From memory the only time it helped me was when there was a routing issue between me and Betfair but it was fine between me and the VPS and the VPS to Betfair.
I will try and find the old thread as I think there was some useful discussion on it.
Edit:
Here are the links to some old VPS discussion threads (where does the time go?

I'd agree with Andy, unless you're betting via a bot or from some blacklisted country a VPS isn't going to speed things up for you trading as it's just an added link in your chain.
On the Display page of Remote Desktop Connection you just need to tick 'Use all my monitors for the remote session'Alpha322 wrote:put my ladder or seperate any features on BA on my second screen
You don't have to create a sophisticated bot to benefit from a VPS. If you use fill or kill, offsetting or stop losses then the VPS will get the new prices and matched bet information quicker than a residential connection and on average will be able to react first. In addition, using features such as Excel and Automation in Bet Angel benefit from the fast connection, so a VPS setup is worth considering for a large proportion of our userbase.spreadbetting wrote:unless you're betting via a bot or from some blacklisted country a VPS isn't going to speed things up for you trading as it's just an added link in your chain.

Good point - I hadn't really considered those points as they were not something that I used.Bet Angel wrote:You don't have to create a sophisticated bot to benefit from a VPS.
