I knew andy was aka leroy. Actually, i found both them blogs two of the best explaining a journey they were on. Andys was from the bottom up, as i remember right from before he even started trading and adams was more of a feel good to show people what they can earn.
I think leroy is still available on google reader, so worth a read for newbies. My point being really was that most of the buzz was always around horses so a lot of people see that as a starting point, whereas other sports can be much more fruitful for many, so those starting out should not think horses is the be all and end all. I would imagine its also the easiest to get emotional about with all them fast flashing numbers which could raise the adrenalin.

There's far too much focus on horses. Worst possible markets you can trade. Stay away from those f**king horses!
UK horse racing markets are by far the most complex and difficult markets to trade, yet Betangel and others continue to push these markets heavily.
There are far easier and vastly superior markets to trade, Tennis and Soccer for instance.
Horse racing, I can be sitting there on a position and suddenly get the price pushed against me by 24 ticks for absolutely no reason that I can see. Only for the price to reverse and come all the way back again after I stopped out for a big red. Again, for absolutely no logic or reason that I can see.
A word of advise for the newbies: I wouldn't touch these UK horse racing markets with a million foot barge pole if I were you.
