I am pretty sure there is a VPS provider based in Oz that people use for BF Australia, for the exact same reasons they use on for the UK exchange.

I don't know who but perhaps Peter can help you or other people who trade the Oz markets?

I use Crucial Paradigm which I have found to be excellent. I subscribe to a "Barebones" 2Gb server for AU$60.

Response time to retrieve AUS market data is around 30ms, which is not too bad.

Got the following this morning from sporting servers. Very disappointed, my automation rules have been lost. Why don't they have mirroring setup or something like that.

Good Morning

Unfortunately we experienced a hard drive failure over night in our datacentre, despite our technicians working all night they have been unable to recover any of the data from the drive. This has resulted in us have to re-initialise your VPS.

Please be aware that your passwords will have been changed and that you will need to restore any personal data to your VPS.

We can only apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

We're sorry that you lost your automation rules when that node failed. The data centre guys were working all night on it, but couldn't recover the data in a usable form. They manage hundreds of servers and this failure seems a bit of a freak event, but we're going to see if extra redundancy can be built into the setup to make it even more resilient.

Personally, we run DropBox on our servers as it's a very quick and easy way to save important files and synchronise between server and desktop. You can sign up and get 2GB of storage for free, so it's well worth doing even if you only use it occasionally.
