Inplay picture latency
Hello friends. For those who trade inplay races and watch the picture is very important latency between events at the racetrack, and the pictures on the screen. Guru of the UK inplay races, please advise which of the existing ways to watch live pictures has the lowest latency? Betfair livevideo, subscription RUK or satellite feed,(read on forum about IP service 6000pounds per month, at this stage, it is expensive for me
) Maybe there are some other ways?
Thanks for any information on this subject.

Thank you for quick reply Peter.
But in several forums, including russian (by the way in Russia and several other countries Betfair raised Premium Charge from 20% to 60% from 1feb, they slashed hard, damn it) I read that the satellite feed may be a little faster, then Betfair Live, but needed some equipment and keys for watch, which change almost daily. But have not found an answer on who could compare the window to the window (only football). Interestingly, anyone practicing in Britain encrypted satellite feeds?

There are people using fast pictures, (I spoke to other traders) The advantage over Betfair live is not significant these days, its only slightly ahead (about a second). Unless you are gifted with being able to really read a race (not many people are despite them thinking so), then its not financially viable.
I believe that there are plenty of FREE feeds for certain events like snooker etc which can be found on certain satellite forums. The problem is that you only need half a dozen other people with the same feed and the edge has gone.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is the cash cow it once was.

Peter

That edge went a long time ago - the fastest feeds are to actually be at the events but again the edge on that front has become so competitive with more and more people doing it. Though the early adopters I am sure made an f'ing fortune.

Even when Ive been at live race meetings..watching the closing stages at the point where I think "that horse has a great chance of winning"..the price is already sub 1.1
I cant compare with other sports, but Im sure the same would apply there?

If I remember right Peter, weren't you planning on going to a couple of football matches that were unmanaged?PeterLe wrote:Peter

With the inplay delay for football i doubt you are going to get much of an edge in big leagues. Im guessing bf will have their monkey sat their cleaning up with their delay. I doubt you are going to beat them to the button if they don't have the delay themselves. However, I would imagine some of the very low level games, it would not be worth sending the monkey and paying the costs and therefore I would imagine certain events it is still worth while if you are not going out of your way with costs to be at the event.
All sports have different nuances of the inplay pictures, but I more interested in horse racing. It would be nice to trade comfortable with the picture that goes with the minimum delay of all available pictures. Of course the guys on the track will always have the advantage, large or small, but they will. And I think that even one second advantage can return+more the investments on a plate of satellite equipment and the receiver (or DVB card).

Thank you very much for the valuable tech information, now much has become clear. Searched Tandberg receivers on ebay, they are expensive, but the device will be best quality,I think, but it may be difficult to setup due to my inexperience, and may have problems with support, as the Tandberg(Ericsson)DVB receivers have not sold anywhere near. A few people at the local forum use AzBox, so they can help with the settings. And why is not easy to use AzBox and enter codes, there are some glitches in the software or hardware?
