How Accurate is Practice mode ? Can anybody Help
Hi everyone, I've been practicing scalping in "practice mode". I've seen my money enter the market and i've waited for my money to get to the front of the queue and I'm right on the money and then watch my position get taken. Question? is this the real market I'm seeing and if so, who's taking my money, as I'm the only one at that position is practice mode assuming that the money is there or is there real money there?

I actually believe that demo bets do have some interaction with the market making bots. I also believe it can be used as an advantage for scalpers or someone looking for a better value price. I'll not get into detail but one thing which certainly happens, is demo bets are often turned off for a mili second. Sometimes it is both back and lay, sometimes its all back or all lay, sometimes its just front 3-4 positions on either side.

How can demo bets in practice mode interact with the live market? They don't get submitted to the API they're just handled locally on your PC. Or are you thinking of the cross matching formula bets?

I don't know the technical reasons. Maybe its just a fault on my comp!
they certainly turn off on my computer though. Its as though "the market" is having a quick look of what is real and what is not real before they generate a few commissions!

I think I also remember reading about accounts being closed for over useage of demo mode a while back. Therefore if that is correct, I think it would suggest that it does have more interaction than just our local PCs.

Its because you are calling the API with requests (to show odds/traded volume) but not placing any bets. I don't think practise mode affects the market
Your just seeing the volatility of the market affect the bet matching prediction algorithm used.

What is the bet matching prediction algorithm?
Happy to show you an example in private by the way of what I'm talking about.

Well the software is having to predict if your virtual bet will get matched and at what speed it gets matched. I assume it uses matched volume at the different odds, but if the market starts to become volatile it is going to struggle.
Sometimes you can put a bet in-play using practise mode at say 10 and the market will hit 10+ but the virtual bet will not get matched. Its not perfect.

Thanks for posting Euler,I found your page about VPS,
but wouldn't know which package I would need. all I want is a UK IP address, and I use Bet Angel each day whilst the English daytime meetings are on 7 days a week, don't really do the night meetings. Could you please advise. I have windows 7.
Thanks in advance
