Yes you need it to communicate with the API, why?

I asked just out of pure curiocity.
I'm not that good in programming..
would be using some of the bet angel
automation tools to create bots.

Not neccessarily, you can also just log in each session with an app key and password instead. They never change the session tokens or even bother with keepalive from what I can see.
