Hi Everyone.
I'm not sure if this is in the right category.
I am a complete newbie although I've done some unsuccessful trading on Betfair in the past.
I want to learn to be a proper trader. Can anybody tell me if this software does that?
I am using the free trial but can't really access it because it isn't working on my mac so I have to sort out a window emulator.

Check this out and especially Soccer Mystic.

Thanks for coming back.
I have watched some of those videos but it is just not working for me. I keep losing money. It is only small amounts so I don't mind except that it is disappointing.
I need to get the software working I suppose which might give me more information upon which is a sound bet and which is not.

IMHO you need to start with a theory (a hunch, an idea - call it what you will). Then you need to refine, think, experiment, tweak etc.
Not being disrespectful, but I also suggest reading, reading, reading. Familiarity with probability theory, stats, bookmaking theory, possible game outcomes and scoring outcomes, regression to the mean, etc. suggestions Black Swan, Fooled by Randomness, Drunkards Walk, Nate silver http://fivethirtyeight.com, Malcolm Gladwell http://gladwell.com/blowing-up/ , You are not so smart etc etc.

Jomo I think you're in a great position, because as you say you haven't lost a lot of money, so that's great news.
Instead of hoping just book a course with the Bet Angel guys,it will be the best money you've spent.
They wont teach you a golden secret that prints money, that doesn't exist, but they will clear your mind, of the blockage that exists, asking all and sundry for advice, adds to this blockage.
I have no connection at all with Bet Angel other than the fact that I attended a course, our difference though is I had previously wasted money.
Good Luck

I personally know nobody who is a full-time trader and had previously attended a course.DRED1 wrote: I have no connection at all with Bet Angel other than the fact that I attended a course, our difference though is I had previously wasted money.

I believe the successful traders work things out for themselves
I know loads
But Adam Heathcote was the only person ever to offer credit for advice I gave him. Most just claim responsibility themselves without crediting any influence.
Offering advice can be a hiding to nothing. You'll always get the blame, but only rarely the credit. I've learnt that's just part of the game. I don't have a problem with it. It's down to individuals and their personalities. If they are smart then tend to prosper long term.
One of the things I've learnt is you can gift people something that definitely makes money, but they will still find a way to not do it. Probably because psychology gets in the way.

You may be right Le Tiss. It's irrelevant though. I'm not suggesting this guy becomes a pro, that's his call.
It would save him a lot of heartache , money and time having a clear structure in place.
Sound like an advert for Peter Webb now
He could become the first, I like to see the positive

Hi Le Tiss,
Do u mean you don't know any pro traders..or you know them and none have been on a course?. My plan is to win enough to go on one of Euler's courses...long way to go yet..but i will get there. I think that there is so much within BA that u won't get the full benefit of the course as a newbie..u need to be fully conversant with BA first by using it for some time.
Just my opinion...

Jomo,
3 things
1. get the software working
2. listen to Peter webb
3. Then start to formulate your own ideas
In that order aswell, Peter needs to take HUGE credit for what he provides he is a massive inspiration and all of his videos have helped me enormously.
opportunities are everywhere in sports trading, learn about sports that you dont know about and you can trade them with great success.
I would say good luck......but I hope you dont need it!
