I've noticed the markets change recently, from the back end of last week and more so this week, I can only assume it's because of the flat season kicking in.

Before everyone starts saying "markets change everyday" although I know what you mean and yes I know that no markets are the same. But I notice a very different change around this time every year and my spreadsheets back this up.

I also notice a big change when we enter jumps season. I've posted about this before, about a year or so ago on a different forum but it seemed that nobody else saw this change in the markets. Strange?

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? I wish I could explain what I mean other than the markets feel/act different!

All I know is that it generally takes me a couple of weeks to adapt to the difference and then I'm back to normal profits.

Am I alone on this one?

No, you're not alone on this. I'm having a 'mare today and yesterday was poor. Liquidity seems low. Today there were generally larger time gaps between the races which I find tricky. As for the change in season, I would imagine that people may wait till there is more form data available to make opinions.

I think you should see a change at the start of the flat turf season. You have new horses coming in with no form so I expect the markets would be more volatile?

I've found the last few days very tough, I cant seem to get a grip on them at all....yet another step back after feeling as though I'd really made progress.

Fair play to all those who have made it to pro status, you can really see at times why so many fall by the wayside....and I'm almost a year into this :?

It seems like the markets go in cycles. Sometimes they suit one type of trading sometimes others. I wouldn't get blown off course by a rough period as good ones are usually just around the corner.

I'm finding today hard work and I'm losing more then I'm winning, but yesterday I had a good day, made £400. Today I can't seem to break even, I get so close then I take a hefty loss, worst trading I've done for a while, I was expecting a decent day today as well :( still over an hour left though! could still spin things around :)

Was Aintree running 5 mins behind today? I traded without the TV on. The last few I've watched have ran a little late. Could explain a few things.

It was only the later races that ran a little later due to race goer being taken to hospital. They are catching up a bit now.

We have noticed that the markets and especially these bigger ones are acting in an unusual manner recently. That last race at Aintree the 16:55, a 21 runner competitive handicap, returned an SP of 97.3%!!!

The good old market manipulator is having fun as ever today which doesn't help matters. Nice for them though as they are clearly making good money from it.
