When I login on my pc, I automatically go to the exchange site. Recently I used a new machine to go to betfair.com and I saw that the sportsbook is the first thing a new user sees when visting betfair.com. A new user has to take an extra step and look "exchange" to visit the original betfair site! Shouldnt this be the other way around?
I think the reason people bet on sportsbooks is because they can bet on multible bets like in football 5 homes, 3 aways etc, single bets like in football don't appeal to alot of people, i'm not sure this is possible to do on the exchange due to the amount of different combinations requiered, but i think if it was tried and became a success sportsbooks would decline.Archangel wrote:I think the Sportsbook is what they consider their primary business nowadays
The exchange is just another tool to be used
Agreed
There is also the likelihood that the exchange put people off as they didnt understand how it works. The Sportsbook can provide the simple front end and the exchange can be utilised at the back end to get better odds giving them a competitive advantage
