Any PC paying football traders?
I don't know that many higher rate players who are just on the football.
The problem you have with the PC is it's now seen as a badge of honour, but I know for a fact that some people who use it that way don't even pay the higher rate. So I think you need to narrow the definition a bit.
You only need to earn £5k to pay PC, but £250k to pay at the higher rate.

Poor choice of words on my part in the opening post. I meant people that primarily trade football, not exclusively.marko236 wrote:I think anyone paying pc will do more than 1 type of market, but i'm sure most of them are trading football.
That's pretty much all I wanted to know, thanks. Because you probably know many that are "just" on tennis, "just" on horses etc. I was curious because I don't know a single football trader that even hit PC (let alone makes a living from it), but I do know a lot of full timers that specialize other sports. I just somehow get the impression that people don't take football markets too seriously, compared to other sports.Euler wrote:I don't know that many higher rate players who are just on the football.

I would imagine some of the biggest traders are on football but have no reason to get involved with forums. Paulo Rebelo I would imagine still trades, and was not shy to put up a 50K P/L for a weeks work in the past!

I know people who only trade football and don't have time to trade other sports (successfully) as there is plenty of markets to choose from on football and not enough time to trade other sports.

Also there was Psychoff who had a blog just on football if i remember for a while. He stopped their blog but you may be able to find it on google reader which tends to keep a cached version of blogs. I remember reading Andy Fullers on there which was a very enjoyable read.
He put his P/L up on youtube for 3 months P/L which is easy to search for to see.

Both of whom I met early in their careers. I have a great email from Paulo I've never published it out of courtesy to him. Nice chap.
One problem with footy is that because it's a low scoring sport your results will be highly variable unless you have a very specific edge you are exploiting.

Im sure you could post a good week for us Peter that can put Paulos week to shame. I know you are a bit reluctant to put up the big wins as "us" knockers are always around but it would be nice to see some outside the horses.

Appreciate your comments Steven. Unfortunately Psychoff blog was way before my time and I think the blog itself is forever lost, although I have seen his old P/L video.
I am somewhat familiar with Paulo Rebelo already but I don't really like that trading style, if you can call it trading at all. From what I have seen over at his academy stuff he is pretty much teaching people how to bet on footy.
I think there's a huge void regarding football trading in general on the internet and nobody to really represent or promote it either, in my opinion there's just no higher quality information out there whatsoever. Unlike racing and tennis where you can get tons of advice from experienced pros, in football you are pretty much on your own I feel.

I think you can learn a lot from a screen shot like this. Ask yourself why he has 3 amounts stacked up for 37,287 Euros and not just say stick 200 quid at 1.04 on its own with nothing behind it. I dont think he is gambling!
I wouldn't be surprised if the 12,762 stacked up at 1.01 and 1.02 are not his either in some form!

I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I just wanted to see if there's any similar traders that frequent this forum, or to see if I might have missed a blog or something from a top footy trader which I know is highly unlikely.
Thanks for the screenshot, I've already looked around his website last year and he takes far too much risk for my liking, I am much more risk-averse in my trading style. But then again it's hard to even compare because I only trade prematch (and prerace) and have not yet cracked inplay football, at least not to the extent that I would like.
It's very frustrating, having hit PC last year and wanting to improve further but literally nobody to compare myself to because football traders are such a secretive bunch, and not much point in comparing my results and experiences with tennis and horse traders. "Everyone has to find their own way" has a whole new meaning in football, compared to tennis or horses where there's people like Peter, Mugs or Caan who can hold your hand and show you the way.
I am just completely disillusioned with fellow football traders in general, at least from what I've seen so far, it just seems to me like footy traders are light years behind tennis/horse traders in the mechanical and technical departments, nearly everyone is looking at the markets just from the sports side of things when there's more to football than statistics and punters' opinions.
I know that if I want to get to the next level I need to conquer inplay, but it sucks not knowing if anyone else has done it recently (not 5+ years ago), because there's no braggy P/L blogs for football or encouraging words from top footy players.
Sorry for ranting but am I wrong? I would like to be wrong.

Kai, I think there is a bit of an illusion generally. At lot of the info out there takes a distinctly snake oil salesy type angle. 'Rehash something and tell people that's what a I do'. So while there is a lot of quantity out there on some sports I would really question the quality of it. I know for a fact that some of the pushers out there don't actually trade, or used to but gave up. So I'd be a little sceptical.
The trouble is for most outsiders is it's impossible to tell who is genuine or not. Probably because people who do it for a living done has as much time to market it!
I think you probably have done the right thing by reaching out though as you may find some real traders.
There are actually a lot in the Bet Angel community, but due to the amount of grief real traders get they tend to keep their heads down and get on with things.
