Good idea ;)

Even if we do get a Ch7 feed I think it will be well behind what Sky used to show.

If seven stay true to form the delay will be considerably slower than Sky.

Probably on par with the stream on racing.com.

It's impossible to compete with the on course players with that kind of delay.

Am I right in thinking, that as it stands right now, nobody offcourse can see Vic racing live? (excluding Internet feeds)I read a story saying it would still be beamed into Pubs & Clubs until the ch78 is up and running

Its only in pubs and clubs in Victoria I think. The rest of us either have to listen to the sky feed or get a 10 second vision delay.

Ah ok. Terry Bailey is calling today, so I might just start flying into the 1.01 late... literally free money :D

Sky is under contract to provide a feed to Victorian Tab agencies. Only agencies, no pub Tabs.

Everyone else should be locked out.

Vic racing seems to be trading really poorly or is it just me...

Naffman,

You're spot on - it's moving like treacle today - I've seen more money at a pauper's funeral.

You would thing that those people who are supposed to be managing racing in Victoria might have learnt the lessons from past debacles - every time some disruption like this occurs racing loses a few more participants. The staggering fact is that Victorian racing has what the modern marketing imposters would describe as "an excellent product". We have just witnessed the so-called Brisbane Carnival which had all the atmosphere of an embalming assistant's conference.

It might just be time for a racing commission in Victoria - it's the fifth largest employer in the state and the spring carnival is worth hundreds of millions of dollars to the Vic economy. I was involved in research into racing in Victoria in the 1970's and a racing commission was suggested then to loosen the grip of the landed gentry on the racing clubs. Now it might be needed to rid the industry of incompetent administrators (see TVN for an example) and the spivs and self propmoters.

Surely it has to get better than this!!

cheers

Couldn't have said it better myself Galilee66.

This graph sums up today IMO, all over the place.

Saw a big advert in the paper. Vic racing free for Sportsbet customers.

Not sure how the traders are getting a live (1 or 2 sec delay) vision anymore. The racing.com website they've put up to beam LIVE VIC racing has a delay of about a minute. Yep the race's nearly over by the time you see them jump on the screen. Now for someone to bet inplay there would be a huge advantage to be at the track theoretically. I compared turnover, whilst in play, between a VIC race and NSW race, and it was down markedly, but they're still betting inplay though. AM radio perhaps?

Crownbet are also offering it but I suspect the delay will be even worse than Racing.com.

There have always been a lot of radio players but I could never do that as I need to see the race unfold, especially with the below-par callers in this country.

And it looks as though Rockhampton has been delayed by an hour...

On top of Albury it makes for a very quiet Thursday.

Looks as though there is no chance of Sky resuming vision in Victoria this week.
