Lay bet processed on bet angel but not on betfair

Hello All,

I have been having some issues recently with my automated system. The system uses the excel spreadsheet functionality of betangel and I have been running it for a number of months now.

Over the last couple of weeks there has been several occasions where my system has failed to green up by placing a lay bet. When I check the log on Guardian it shows that lay bet has been placed and matched successfully, however, on betfair the bet has not been processed and I lose my back stake (unless the back bet wins).

Does anyone know why this happens and also why it has suddenly started happening over the last couple of weeks? I was running bet angel version 1.37. I have now upgraded to 1.41

Many Thanks

Kevin

Were the stakes required to grew up below minimum?

Thanks for your reply gazuty,

No, my back stakes are set at £150 and the lay stakes are usually within £100 - £200. I have set my maximum liability to above any possible lay bet liabilities I could have. My betfair balance is more than sufficient to cover any liabilities. It apprears to be a communication error between betangel and betfair as the betangel log states that the bet was placed successfully.

Under certain circumstances Betfair will match bets but then subsequently void them.

I believe that this can happen when a market is suspended and/or turned in-play too early or too late.

See this Betfair page (Part B - General rules, 1 Managing markets In-Play) for their rules...

http://www.betfair.com/aboutUs/Rules.and.Regulations/

To see if this applies in your case make a note of the bet references from the log and contact Betfair support - they should be able to confirm whether the bet was indeed matched and whether it was subsequently voided and why.

Am on this thread as i can't find how to post a new subject??
Can someone help with the fol BA set-up's please?
1. I have far too many 'saved' layouts in the window between the spanner and calculator...can't find how i delete some of these.?

2. Am trying to save new layouts including graphs..but when i go to View as it says in the manual..the graphs minimise so they are not on screen.
I need them to stay there so i can save that screen.
How do i do that please??
Thanks any help...

Thanks for your reply Tanden,

It happened to me again twice today. The lay bet is placed using the green up function of guardian and the log does not give a reference number when greening up. I therefore cannot provide betfair support with a reference number.

My system does not bet in play. It is all pre-race for horse racing markets. I have had situations where I have backed two horses and when greening up, it is successful for one horse but not for the other. My system also attemps to green up several times before the race starts so this indicates to me that betangel regards the lay bet as successful after the bet has been placed. However on betfair there has been no lay bet processed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

it might be late withdrawals of horses just before it goes inplay. Look at bf history statements and check bet status.

Thanks for your reply gutuami,

I has not been due to the late withdrawals of horses as in a couple of cases the horse has won the race. However, I mananged to find the lay bets on betfair when looking in the 'lapsed' bet status column. Somehow betfair has lapsed these bets and I am not sure why. The betangel log does not indicate that there has been a market suspension or that the bet was unmatched. I think I will contact betfair support for clarification. Does anyone have an idea of why this occurred and why it is happening so frequently over the last couple of weeks?

Thanks

when a market closes the unmatched part of a bet will be refunded (lapsed), but the matched portion of the bet will remain matched until settling.

Kev
One way is to retrieve the unique bet I'd from within the BA log and then take it up with Betfair.
they should be able to track it down from there
